Personal Care / Private Duty

At Venerate, we are committed to thoughtfully pairing our caregivers with clients, taking into account the specific level of care required and the unique personalities involved.

This commitment applies equally whether services are provided directly by a Venerate employee or through a contractor or affiliated organization involved in implementing our programs and activities.

The Personal Care Program assists individuals with long-term disabilities to achieve independence while living at home. This program provides members with the necessary services to support activities of daily living (ADLs).

Personal Care Services:

• Supporting bathing, personal hygiene, and dressing
• Assisting with basic skin care routines
• Utilizing bathing equipment for enhanced comfort
• Helping with transfers to and from different locations
• Guiding with self-administered medications
• Assisting with the use of urinals, bedpans, and commodes

Homemaker Services:

• Performing routine cleaning and housekeeping tasks
• Providing laundry services, including washing and ironing
• Offering instruction and assistance with meal planning and preparation
• Conducting shopping for essential items on behalf of the client
• Running errands as needed

Companionship Services:

• Offering companionship, friendship, and emotional support
• Engaging in conversation and sharing experiences
• Playing games or cards together
• Reading to the client
• Helping clients maintain contact with family and friends
• Organizing and reading mail
• Accompanying the client on walks

Respite Care Services:

• Providing relief for regular caregivers
• Offering strategies for stress relief for caregivers
• Allowing caregivers to take a break from the physical demands of caregiving
• Creating opportunities for caregivers to catch up on sleep, socialize, and exercise

Advanced Supportive & Restorative Services:

• Monitoring clients and reporting observations
• Applying topical medications as needed
• Supervising or assisting with oral medication administration
• Preventing pressure ulcers (decubitus)
• Implementing bowel management programs
• Providing basic personal care for ostomy and catheter management
• Using transfer devices for mobility assistance
• Applying non-sterile dressings for minor skin injuries
• Adhering to universal precautions for health and safety
• Applying TED stockings for circulation support
• Providing laundry and ironing services
• Instructing and supporting meal planning and preparation
• Shopping for essential items on behalf of clients
• Running errands as required
